Construction Unit!

This is the way we saw the wood, saw the wood, saw the wood.

This is the way we saw the wood so early in the morning!

See a video of our Reader's Theater!

PreK presents: "The Three Little Wolves!" and "The Three Little Pigs!"

Once upon a time, there was a Mama and a Papa. They said "Goodbye" to all their babies.

The first little wolf bought some straw and built a house of straw.

Along came the Big Bad Pig! He said "Little wolf, little wolf let me in!"

"Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin!"

"Then I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house in!"

The end!

I built a sofa for all the people.

We are building a city in the blocks center. This is the Great Wall of PK!

We are working on our town.

We are building roads for the cars and trucks.

We are exploring how we can sort the beads. First we sorted by color then by amount. We discovered we can build different sets. We can build 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6! We can build the amounts in lots of different ways!

We are building the alphabet with playdough. We worked together to create all the letters. We all worked in different ways, and we did it together!

We are building a house for storytelling. We will use the house to tell the story of the Three Little Pigs. I am drilling. I am waiting to drill.

I was drilling with screws to build a house. I am painting with my friend. We are painting the house brown for the Three Little Pigs.

I painted the whole wall yellow for the house. We painted the house for the story.

We measured the wood for the house. I was measuring the wood with blocks.

I was measuring the wood. I am using cubes to measure how big the wood is.

We are building in dramatic play. I was stacking the wood to build a building.

I was making a dog house. I was using the drill.

I have measuring tape. I can measure how long and short things are.

We are building pictures. We can hammer the shapes with nails. We can build people.

In dramatic play we are building.

In math, we are building with shapes. Our buildings are tall and short. I am making a house with windows and doors for my friends.

We went saw a real construction site.

We walk across the street to see a building under construction. We saw workers building with wood and tile. We saw tall ladders, big machines, and tools. We are building in our classroom. We are hammering with nails and wood.

We are building in math. We are building sets of five with unifix cubes.
